Many students fear that SmartBook uses the webcam to monitor them. This is a myth.

Standard SmartBook and Connect Homework assignments do not have permission to access your camera or microphone through your browser unless you explicitly grant it to a proctoring service.

Only exams that specifically state "Proctored by Proctorio" or "Respondus" can record you. SmarterBook is perfectly safe for all standard daily assignments and non-proctored quizzes.
